The Iqon Decode 80 Classic Mount Frame in Black is a comprehensive, multiple setup, all in one frame. Arguably, a product for the tech-heads, lots seems to be achievable for those that want to delve deep into the technology.
The frame exhibits several axle holes. These axle points are what determine the frame’s wheel configuration. Depending on the wheel format used, the axles vary in appearance and functionality. Axles included are:
Though it reads complex, in practice, it is obvious which axles correspond to the chosen wheel configuration (the bigger screws won’t fit through the smaller holes, and the wheel placement in the frame will guide you to which holes to use).
The frame does not include built-in “frame spacers” (the frame spacer is a small nub that stops the frame from rubbing against the wheel). Many other brands build this feature into the frame; however, the Decode frame does not have standard frame spacers, this is to allow multiple wheel configurations without the unused wheel-hole/spacer rubbing against the wheel that’s being used. Instead, Iqon manufactured a special bearing that includes a built-in spacer. These bearings are not compatible with other wheels/frames. Furthermore, other aftermarket bearings are not compatible with the Decode frames. You will only be able to use Iqon Decode bearings with the Decode frames, but this will mean you can used multiple wheel set-ups with one frame, problem free.
This frame uses a “raised heel” 165mm frame mounting (like the FR1, FRX, Seba High Light, Seba Trix, Twister Edge, Rollerblade Cruiser, RB80 etc).
